Post-Holiday Funk

Chances are you indulged in lots of not-so-healthy food over the past holiday weekend. Whether it was salty ham, carb heavy mashed potatoes, or sugary chocolate bunnies, you are probably starting your week off with low energy and you are not feeling your best.

Want to feel more energized and have a productive week? Here are 3 simple tips to help you get back on track and out of the post-holiday funk.

1). Drink more water. Eating salty foods leaves you dehydrated. This week pass up the sugary juices and soda and stick to water. It will help flush the bad food out of your body and improve your circulation. Not sure how to get started? Click Here.

2). Walk daily. Another way to improve your circulation is to take a daily walk. Your walk doesn’t have to be long – a 15 or 20 minute walk is a great way to start your fitness routine. Walking is also a great way to improve your energy level. You would be surprised how a 20 minute morning walk will give you more energy throughout your day! Not sure how to get started? Click Here.

3). Eat more dark leafy greens. Dark leafy greens, like spinach and kale, are great foods for getting you back on track. They contain high amounts of vitamins and minerals, like vitamin A and K, folate, and iron. They contain high amounts of fiber – which will also help rid your body of the bad foods you’ve been eating. I plan on writing more about this topic later in the week, but for now click here to see how to get started.

These are all things I do to help get me back on track after a holiday weekend, what do you do to get back on track?
